LION Athletics offers a robust program from Grades 4-12 designed to build character, resilience, and leadership among its student-athletes.

The Bronx LIONS bring pride and competitive spirit to the CPSAL every spring, with a program known for its consistent playoff contention.

  • Boys': Grades 6-8, Spring, MSAL
  • Men’s: Grades 9-12, Spring, CPSAL

LION Basketball is a proud cornerstone of LION Athletics, offering both boys and girls the opportunity to compete starting in Grade 4.

Our teams build skill, confidence, and school pride while competing across respected leagues, including the CSAA, MSBL, and PSAL.

  • Boys’ and Girls’: Grades 4/5, Fall, CSAA
  • Boys’: Grades 6-8, Fall, MSBL
  • Girls': Grades 6-8, Winter, MSBL
  • Men’s and Women’s: Grades 9-12, Winter, PSAL

As a year‑round program, LION Cheer builds teamwork, confidence, and school spirit while competing in the CPSAL alongside top programs across the city.

LION’s flag football program brings speed, strategy, and school pride to the field, with teams competing in the MSAL and CPSAL and regularly advancing to the playoffs at the middle and high school levels.

With a strong tradition of excellence, LION Soccer competes in the MSAL and PSAL and is a regular presence in the playoffs year after year.

Through dedicated coaching and team camaraderie, the LION Softball program serves girls in Grades 6–12 with both middle and high school teams that emphasize growth, leadership, and school pride.

LION Track & Field welcomes student‑athletes from Grades 4–12, offering a growing program that builds speed, strength, and confidence across all age levels.

Since its inception, the men’s team has achieved notable success, including multiple championship titles.

LION Volleyball brings students together at the middle and high school levels, fostering skill development and school pride through MSAL and CPSAL play.

James Lofton, recognized for his basketball prowess, proved his athletic versatility in a new arena: flag football.

Out of hundreds of students across the city, he earned his spot in the CPSAL Flag Football All-Star Game and made the most of every moment on the field. Lofton’s all-around performance earned him MVP honors, solidifying his reputation not just as a standout basketball player but as a dynamic, multi-sport athlete.

The competitive spirit of all LION teams are the pride of our community.

Coaches and administrators encourage each student to challenge themselves, both on and off the field, while fostering an inclusive, team-first environment.
