- At LION, we recognize that all children, regardless of their neighborhood, race, or income, possess inherent potential.
- We believe that school is a place for students to develop the skills and mindsets needed to become their best selves.
- We focus on supporting students as they develop their character and the skills they need for life through challenging academics, enrichment, self-reflection, and family engagement.
- Character development is the foundation of our college-ready curriculum.
- Our character program involves every student, teacher, and staff member, empowering all LION community members to be at their best and act with purpose, honesty, and humility.
Our School
Academics
As three schools under one charter, LION students attend a school that supports them from kindergarten through college or the post-secondary path of their choice. This approach has resulted in strong outcomes for students. Our alumni are graduating from college at twice the rate of their peers and earning bachelor’s degrees at more than three times the national average for students of the same demographic.
Our Philosophy

Our Academic Program
LION is committed to creating a strong literacy and math foundation for all students. With a comprehensive program for elementary students and continuing through later grades with advanced learning opportunities, including high-school-level courses for eighth graders and college-level courses for high school students, LION academics lay the groundwork for students’ future success.
Students engage in co-curricular courses throughout their academic career at LION, including science, history, art, dance, physical education, and a range of Advanced Placement courses and electives in high school.
Elementary School (K-3)
Safe, Nurtured, and Challenged
LION Elementary School (K-3) centers exploration and skill development through an interactive curriculum and comprehensive, research-based resources. Students develop their ability to be critical thinkers, researchers, and problem solvers.

Middle School (4-8)
Success in High School and Beyond
The Middle School curriculum is designed to prepare students to earn high school course and exam credits across core subject areas by the end of 8th grade. This positions students to take advanced courses, including college credit-bearing classes in high school.

High School (9-12)
Developing Character and Potential
LION High School challenges students to strengthen their leadership and curiosity through rigorous academic courses, varsity athletics, service to the community, and self-reflection. New experiences consistently challenge students to exercise their character and work towards becoming agents of positive social change.
