Tara Edwards joined LION Charter School as Director of Human Resources in 2023, bringing a wealth of experience in organizational leadership, talent management, and equity-focused HR practices. With a career dedicated to creating inclusive and thriving workplace environments, Tara plays a pivotal role in advancing the school’s mission of fostering academic excellence and empowering educators to make a transformative impact on students’ lives.

With a focus on operational excellence, Tara collaborates closely with school leaders to ensure that HR systems and practices support the organization’s growth and long-term success. Her ability to balance strategic vision with practical implementation has made her an invaluable member of the school’s executive team.

Tara holds a Master’s Degree in Education, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, a designation of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), a designation as Certified Human Resources Professional (SHRM-CP) and various certifications inclusive of payroll, talent management, and project management. She also brings 15 years of HR experience across multiple industries. Outside of her professional work, Tara is passionate about community service and mentoring future leaders.
